1. Sometimes, you have to have a period of waiting until the fog clears before you can see more clearly what is in front of you. A good example of this for me is the time I spent waiting to come to Peru. There are many times now that I can look back on that time, wondering when the day was to come that I would get to come here and how it would look. I spent that time preparing any way I could.
2. Sometimes, you can see things clearly in the distance and can walk confidently forward; and other times you can only see one step in front of you and so you proceed with caution. You adjust your movement forward according to how much you can see. I think a good example of this was when I was studying to become an OT. I knew the end result of my studies was a degree in therapy but what I didn't know was would I pass all my classes with decent grades, or what area of OT I would work in after I graduated.
3. Sometimes you have to just walk forward steadily even when everything is cloudy, in faith that when the fog clears, you will be exactly where you are supposed to be. In Hebrews 11:1 it says "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." In Hebrews 11, I'm reminded of all the people in the bible who walked in faith to do what God commanded them to do, without giving them much information into the future. 2 big examples of this model are happening in my church Camino de Vida right now. In one example, the fog has cleared and the results are incredible. The weekend of February 14-15th, Camino de Vida opened their 4th campus in the Lima area. The plan was for them to start with just 2 services and grow from there. The response to the new campus was so HUGE that they needed to add 2 more services just to fit all the people in!
The other example is still in process. In August 2015, the church will be holding its first Missionary Internship program for college aged individuals who want to experience what overseas urban missions is like. It is a 5 month long program and it will be amazing for anyone who attends! If you know of anyone that might be interested in doing this, please pass on the information, there are still spaces available! For more information go to cdv.pe/cdvinternship
I know that God is blessing me in this time of fogginess in regards to providing for all my needs and with abundance. AND I know that no matter what my future is, God knows all about it, and it will be good. So, I do not need to worry about it, all I need to do is TRUST Him. This time in my life is a new place to be in and it is not comfortable at all, but, I know that like the fog, one day God will make it all disappear and everything will become clear. Until then I will just have faith that He will reveal His plans when His timing is right. So, I'm asking for prayer from all of you. Prayer that God rolls back the fog and makes it clear what He wants me to do after September.and that I can hear Him LOUD and CLEAR and be 100% sure what His plans are for me. Thanks everyone! If you have a specific prayer request, maybe your own fog story to tell or some prayer for clarity in your life, please, share with me so that I can be praying for you as well.
