What felt even better was when I recieved that document from my lender that said, "Paid in Full". Honestly, (even though I still owe the money) I was not sure I would ever see that from my lender, so for me, it meant a lot! I was so full of emotions of joy, relief, and hope. Of course it got me thinking about the ultimate sacrifice made by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He died for us so that we could have life and a relationship with our loving Father. He died so that we could be forgiven once and for all for the debt that we owed to God for our sins. I remember the day that I accepted Jesus into my heart, I was full of these same emotions that I was about the loan pay off. However unlike my feelings of NEVER wanting to have to have a relationship with my lender again (i.e. taking out school loans), for the Lord, I have deep feelings of grattitude and and a sincere desire to know Him MORE, be with him MORE, and serve him MORE. He continues to be the drive and reason for my plans to serve in Peru. I want to share with the impoverished people of Peru with disabilities about how much God loves each and every one of us; and that our debts have been paid in full by the blood of Jesus Christ.
P.S. Thank you so much for your prayers and support! I am currently at 67% (pledged support) of my total amount needed for my 2 years in Peru! Praise God!
Blessings,
Lisa
