On another note, I wanted to invite you all that are local to the Chicago area who are interested to come to a gathering at my church (First Presbyterian Church of River Forest) on Saturday May 4th from 9-12 to learn how to encourage and support me as I leave for Peru, and when I am down there. This gathering will be led from the Member Care team from my sending agency TAP (The Antioch Partners). This is appropriate for ages 5th grade and up. Coffee and pastries will be provided as will childcare for younger children. (Please email me if you need information on childcare as this needs to be organized prior to the meeting).
In regards to other things: I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has helped me in one way or another this far on my journey. I've been given space to store my stuff for 2 years free of charge! I've also been given a phone that has a SIM card that can be removed so that I can use it in Peru. I've been given new hiking shoes that will certainly get used when I 'm there walking up and down the hills of the shanty towns. I've been given boxes to move my stuff, and even had the rest I needed on my vacation! I feel so incredibly blessed and I just want you all to know how very thankful I am for everything.
Mostly, I am thankful for this opportunity to serve our awesome God, who gave his one and only perfect son to pay for our debt so that we could have this life now and in eternity. Have a very blessed Easter! Celebrate the fact that He has conquered the grave and is Risen!
